The Beijing-Hebei Business Association's donation effort to combat the coronavirus epidemic was initiated by Chairman Chen Sanguo and received strong support from the Hebei Provincial Government Office in Beijing, the Hubei Provincial Charitable Federation, the Hebei Provincial Red Cross Society, as well as other relevant organizations and leaders. It also garnered robust backing from association leaders such as Li Jiuzhi, Yao Kuizhang, and Wang Weibin, along with enthusiastic participation and contributions from member companies and staff of the association.
The progress of the donation efforts is now publicly announced:
I. As of February 7, 2020, the Beijing-Hebei Entrepreneurs Association had received total donations amounting to RMB 3,711,200.
II. As of February 7, 2020, donations were received from a total of 104 enterprises or individuals, including chamber of commerce member companies and staff members.
III. Originally, this donation was planned primarily to provide epidemic prevention and control supplies. However, due to severe shortages in the market and difficulties in ensuring the quality of products available through existing channels, and considering the urgent nature of the pandemic, we have decided instead to make targeted donations directly to relevant medical institutions.
IV. This donation is divided into two parts: The first part, through the Hubei Provincial Charity Federation, is specifically allocated to Huanggang Central Hospital in Hubei Province for RMB 2,000,000; the second part, via the Hebei Provincial Red Cross Society, is directed toward medical institutions within Hebei Province, totaling RMB 1,710,000. Specifically, RMB 570,000 will be donated to Baoding City Infectious Disease Hospital, RMB 570,000 to Chengde City Third Hospital, and another RMB 570,000 to Zhangjiakou City Infectious Disease Hospital.
After diligent efforts, staff have carefully adjusted the breakdown of actual donation amounts, ensuring that each donor’s generous contribution reaches every hospital in need.
V. This donation totaled RMB 3,710,000, with a remaining balance of RMB 1,200. The reason the remaining RMB 1,200 was not donated is as follows: The donation to Huanggang Central Hospital was completed first, leaving RMB 1,711,200. If this amount were evenly distributed among the three hospitals in Hebei Province—resulting in approximately RMB 570,400 per hospital—we decided not to donate the extra RMB 1,200 due to the unique pronunciation of the number "4" in Chinese. Instead, this small sum will be reserved for future charitable initiatives.
6. Due to the daily transfer limit of 500,000 yuan on the corporate account of the Hebei Enterprise Association, despite extensive efforts by our staff, the opening bank resumed work only on the 12th of this month. Therefore, the donation process will be carried out in installments, with 500,000 yuan donated each day, until the total donation reaches 3,710,000 yuan and is fully completed.
The first donation was already made on February 7, 2020, to Huanggang Central Hospital, the area hardest hit by the epidemic.
7. This donation was made through targeted contributions via the Hubei Provincial Charity Federation and the Hebei Provincial Red Cross Society, facilitating joint oversight of how the funds are used.
8. The donated funds are earmarked for specific purposes, exclusively allocated to coronavirus prevention and control efforts at the recipient hospital, as well as for equipment procurement, supply acquisition, and incentives and subsidies for frontline medical staff.
9. No work compensation was paid to the donation manager or staff members for this contribution, and no other expenses were incurred.
As of February 7, 2020, the donation effort has been largely completed. We sincerely thank all leaders and members for your generous support. Moving forward, we will continue to closely monitor and oversee how the recipient organizations are utilizing the donated funds.

Pest-control lamps can attract and eliminate rice pests such as planthoppers, rice borers, as well as armyworms and wheat moths.

Agricultural and forestry pests are major threats that hinder agricultural development and negatively impact both the yield and quality of crop products. To reduce pesticide residues in crops and ensure the safety and quality of agricultural produce, at the end of June this year, Peixian Xie Xin Family Farm—located in Tongchang Village, Weimiao Town—was the first in the county to introduce solar-powered insecticidal lamps, effectively controlling diseases and pests in their crops.

Solar-powered insecticidal lamps: Protection during rainy days

Solar-powered insecticidal lamps are mostly installed outdoors as equipment designed to eliminate agricultural pests. Given the open-air environment, they frequently encounter harsh weather conditions—such as strong winds, rain, hail, and more. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure proper protection for these solar insecticidal lamps.
